This OR That: Bill Maxwell

This OR That: Bill Maxwell

During a month in which Americans generally give thanks for all that is good in their lives, we at Timmco pause to re-introduce our colleague, Bill Maxwell. Bill has been a valued agent in our organization for nearly 23 years, following his service as a Customer Service Agent at Safeco. Bill and his wife, Toni, live in West Linn with their college freshman daughter and high school sophomore son. If you’ve not been lucky enough to encounter Bill in the past, here’s a peek into his personal preferences that might not have come up in an insurance conversation in the future:

Cat OR Dog? Definitely dogs, Labrador Retrievers are my favorite. Previously we had a black lab and currently are enjoying our chocolate lab, Hannah. To me, there’s not a better furry companion. I love water dogs.

Book OR Movie?I enjoy watching action movies with my son, Adam. We also catch every Marvel movie together as soon as they come out.

Coffee OR Tea?Iced Tea in the summer and hot coffee in the winter.

Sun OR Snow? I actually enjoy the rain. It raises the rivers that I love to fish in and helps salmon and steelhead migrate upstream where I hope to intercept them.

Chocolate or Vanilla?Vanilla. Growing up I was allergic to chocolate, so I never really developed a taste for it like just about everybody else does. A favorite of mine is a good vanilla milkshake.

Contractor or DIY?DIY as much as possible. My dad involved me in many construction projects growing up (including building their retirement home). That experience gave me the confidence to tackle any number of projects I’ve come across as a homeowner.

Land or Sea?Definitely drawn to bodies of water. I love being on the water whether it’s a river, lake or ocean. Ever since I was a child, I’ve loved boats and finding any way I can get on the water.

Soccer OR Football?I enjoy soccer when I am watching my kids play but for pure enjoyment there’s nothing quite like college football for me.

Ducks OR Beavers?Well, that’s a tough one. With my daughter starting her freshman year at OSU this fall I’m trying hard to become a Beaver fan. But I’ve not fully embraced the Beaver Nation, yet… I’m sure after a year or two that they’ll wear me down, but I’ll never stop rooting for the Ducks.

Fishing OR Yard Work? Fishing courses through my veins. I read a quote years ago that sums it up for me. “Fishing is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope”. I think we could all use a little “fishing” in our lives.
